Trustee election results
Following the recent Trustee election held in February, the Trustee Directors would like to congratulate and welcome the winning candidate Liam Cleary to the Trustee as a member-elected Director.
Thanks to everyone who took time to vote in this election – it was a very close result.
Liam says he's thankful to everyone who voted and looks forward to representing members on the Trustee Board. Liam commenced his tenure on 1 March 2019, and replaces Marc Proctor who concluded nine years of dedicated service as a member-elected Director. Please join the Trustees in welcoming Liam to the Board, and thanking Marc for his long service and contribution to the Scheme.
Liam’s biography is included below, so you can learn more about our new Director.
"The first half of my career was spent in the investment management of cash and fixed interest funds for a range of KiwiSaver, retail and institutional clients, including the Westpac Staff Superannuation Scheme, at one of the country's largest fund managers. During this time, I also became a CFA charterholder."
"Subsequently, I have been with Westpac since 2010, serving as the Head of Funding within the Treasury. In this role, I have been heavily involved in the bank's governance and FMCA obligations relating to the bank's wholesale funding activities."
"With my professional background, I believe I can offer members a strong mix of both governance and practical experience in investment management, and financial markets."
