This website is operated by Mercer (N.Z.) Limited (“Mercer”), as administration manager of the Westpac New Zealand Staff Superannuation Scheme (“Scheme”).

This Privacy statement ("Statement") describes how Mercer and its related entities collect and handle information about you through this website, on behalf of the Trustee of the Scheme. This Statement does not apply to companies that are not related entities of Mercer, to persons it does not employ, or to websites it does not own or operate.

By accessing, browsing, or using this website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and have accepted the practices described in this Statement. INFORMATION MERCER COLLECTS AND HOW MERCER USES IT

Mercer's server records the information provided by your browser when you visit this website, including through the use of cookies. This includes the date and time of your visit, the pages accessed and documents downloaded. It also includes your server's IP address and, if you are referred to this website from another website, the address of the referring website. This data enables us to keep track of the volume and type of products or services viewed and, unless a customer opts out, to send them information and updates about those products or services. While we will use the data to analyse demographic usage patterns so that we can improve our services, we make no efforts to associate this data with any individual’s identity.

When you send Mercer or the Trustee of the Scheme an email they may request personal information such as your name, membership number, contact details, as well as other information to enable us to process your request. If you do not provide such personal information, Mercer may not be able to process your request. Mercer and the Trustee use this information (and any other information included in your email to one of us) to respond to your enquiries, to manage their respective relationships with you (including for administrative purposes), to administer the Scheme, to facilitate their respective operations (including to comply with legal requirements) and for any specific purpose which you are notified of.

As part of its role as administration manager of the Scheme, Mercer shares the personal information described in this Statement with the Trustee. Mercer may also share the personal information with, local and overseas outsource service providers, its network of financial advisors, third party suppliers, related entities of Mercer and other external parties, including the Scheme actuary, Scheme legal counsel, your employer (Westpac New Zealand Limited), and Inland Revenue and other government agencies where required by law, to the extent reasonably required to carry out any of the lawful purposes for which the information may be used (as described above).

If you request access to, or a copy of, your personal information, we will provide you such access or copy unless there is good reason (in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020) for not doing so, including where such a disclosure would breach someone else’s rights to privacy, confidentiality obligations and / or the law.

If you request a correction to your personal information you may provide us with a statement of the correction sought. If we do not agree that your requested correction should be made, you may request that we attach the statement of correction sought to your personal information.
